Mainly People

This blog installment deals primarily with the imaging of people.  I love imaging a person.  My objective is to not only provide a visual account of what the individual looks like, but to reveal a bit about who this person is.  A direction for the mind to pursue will evoke the panomime of the face and ignite the eyes.  This in conjunction with some posing tips will more often than not result in a dynamic image which causes a psychological response from the viewer.  Emotional states like confidence, enthusiasm, caring, and in the event of the SnoBot, an 'ice cold heart' begin in the mind of the subject, are translated into an expression, which I record and deliver as per usage dictates.  Finally, these expressions and gestures are viewed, and subsequent to a brief moment of involvement on behalf of the viewer, an emotional response ensues.  That's the objective anyway....

Deer Pandora

Don't you love pandora?  I have a dock in the house connected to the home sound system (soundtube) and run it as an app through the I phone..  Really diverse, fun streaming music.  I like these stations:  Miss Kittin, Lo Fidelity All Stars, Peaches, Morcheeba...  I spent 3 days mountain biking in St. George area last weekend, rode the JEM Trail, Gooseberry Mesa, and Guacamole Trail.  Met some amazing people, ate great food, and had a blast!!
We also got some work done at the studio.  A lot of copy art, some commercial imaging, Art Directed and DP'd some video for sam's club.com and costco.com.
We also manufactured packed and shipped 10 industrial culture prints to be shown at The Silver Eye Center for Photography December 9 through January 4.  I'll be visiting  Pittsburgh from Dec 7- 12 to attend the opening reception, urban hike and document industrial culture.  Hit me up if you're in the sector!  (435) 757-7207

Fitness and Art

Sustained exertion, especially in a situation which demands focus, will result in a flushing of the mind which allows new ideas to become manifest.  I get good ideas when I push my physical limits.  Todays good idea involved a dark-skinned power-bot with a white costume, in a white environment, with a white weapon and muzzle bursts.
Now, on with the doings.  We've had some fitness shoots, costco.com, ross packaging, walmart packaging, and The Sports Authority, as well as a head shot of Kristie Brooks, an Home Shopping Network fitness spokesperson.  We also photographed some paintings and made some prints of a landscape I shot last spring.  Also in the news:  snow.

The East side of Bear Lake, looking North West.  The "Carribean of the Rockies".

Packaging image of a fitness ball for Ross.  Local talent and USU student, Ryan Avila, is awesome to work with.

Kristie Brooks.  She is a super certified fitness trainer, develops fitness programs for Icon, the world's largest manufacturer of fitness equipment, AND she sells fitness equipment on the Home Shopping Network.  Go!

This treadmill was a prototype, didn't run, and Michelle Hendy faked the stride!  This image was created for The Sports Authority.

Linda Sargent's watercolor of two white horses is a real nice piece, we photographed this for her with our 4x5 Betterlight scan back.

Thanks for tuning in!  Please call (435) 752-5211 or email dunker@dunkerimaging.com to discuss any imaging needs you might have!

Finalist.

I'm a finalist at MYARTSPACE. I like that the other finalists are painters, sculptors, and photographers.

In other news, I licensed a Geneva Steel image to be used on a cd cover, and I sold a large, 40"x50" print of the same image to a collector in Malibu.

We delivered a set of images to IMDS.  This company partners with medical device inventors to develop, manufacture, and sell these devices.

Here's some images we delivered to The Sports Authority this week.  These images will be used on the preprint inserts you find in your newspaper.

We shot these sculptures for artist Jerry Fuhriman.  They are made with repurposed stainless steel and are built to last!

We generated tradeshow signage imagery for Freemotion, a high end commercial fitness equipment company.  Shot on Monday, final files delivered Tuesday.  Kudos to Katie, our in house post production specialist on her quick turnaround and attention to quality and detail.

As a special reward for your visit to this blog, I present you with "The Authoritarian."  Shot in front of a large LED panel for the pure and simple reason of fun.  Model:  Erin Reese, Hair:  Jana Thompson, Makeup:  Machelle Bindrup, Assistant:  Katie Burton.  Thanks to all who participated.  This print will be displayed at the Los Angeles Center for Digital Art in the "New and Improved II" exhibit, a group invitational show.

Here, we're testing looks for Chrome Hearts glasses, I grabbed this image during an imaging session for the Ed Hardy hair care product line.  I'm all about the industrial green color and alien talent style.

Danna, a figure fitness competitor, poses for a Sears point of purchase image.  This image will be on collateral associated with a treadmill in the retail space.

Here, we imaged this Reebok treadmill for costco.com.  This hero image will be accompanied with several inset shots describing key features...

Sue Dunker used pastels to create 'Rainbow', the bull.  We photographed the original with a Betterlight 4x5 scanner back and generated a print edition for the artist.

These are just a few of the projects we've had come through the studio this week, we're always shooting, executing post production, maintaining accounts, and generally loving what we do!  As always, please contact us with any imaging needs or questions you have.  (435) 752-5211

AT IT

We're at it.  We had threee days of commercial imaging last week.  We're now embroiled in post production.  The newly created images will function as Point of Purchase imagery at Sears, Pre Print inserts for The Sports Authority, Press Release images of Nordic Track incline trainers for Men's Health, and domestic interiors for Costco.com.  We've had some amazing fitness talent in the studio during this productive time, great direction, stylist, set designers, assistants.... Certainly a coordinated team effort!

Here's a few results...

We also completed some copy art for Jackson Hole Artist, Brooke Kemmerer.  Take a peek!!

I also have some new personal work from the "Industrial Culture" project that just came off the scanner...

Thanks for stopping by, come back soon as I'll post images as they come through the pipeline!  And, please visit dunkerimaging.com for more news, contact info, and images.

Welcome!

Welcome!  Today marks the first day of this blog's existence.  Thanks for stopping by.  My intention is to post current and relevant information which demonstrates the vision, progression, results, and projects which constitute the focus of dunker imaging services, inc.
For starters, check us out in the 2009 Communication Arts Photography Annual.  We have a 5 image spread in the "Unpublished" category titled, "Industrial Culture:  The Machine."  What a stroker!

Here's a result from yesterday's commercial product shoot, basic packaging for east coast retailer BJ's.

Also, check out the television ad on https://www.blackcard.com/.  Not only am I the photographer in the ad, but I Art Directed and was the Director of Photography on many of the shots.  The images for the print ads which are running in Vogue, Outside, Vanity Fair, and several other publications can be seen at dunker_imaging.
